What we do during our working hours determines what we have;
what we do in our leisure hours determines what we are.
My love of photography began long ago with a purple LeClic 110mm camera that produced pretty terrible results that I loved. I have no idea where that camera went, but since then I've learned a whole lot more about photography.
I recently took a long break from photoblogging. I wasn't bored with it, but life got in the way. In that time I finished my dissertation, got married, and moved to Philadelphia. However, you can take the girl away from the photoblog, but you can't take the photoblog out of the girl. And so I'm back, this time with a fresh new photoblog on my own domain. (You can see my old photoblogs here: White Light and Shadows.)
I shoot primarily with a Canon Digital Rebel XT and a Canon 50mm f/1.4 lens. I also use the kit lens (Canon EF-S 18-55mm f/3.5-5.6) when I need something wider, and a Sigma 55-200mm f/4-5.6 when I need something longer. I also use some film cameras from time to time: a Mamiya C330 (medium format), a Canon AE-1 (35 mm), and a Contax RX (35 mm).
One day I'd really like a macro lens and some table top studio gear: see my wishlist.
